Day 1: Arrival in Moroni – City Tour and Cultural Walk
Pick up by your guide at the hotel and embark on a walking tour of Moroni’s medina. Explore narrow alleys lined with carved doors and coral stone buildings, visit the Old Friday Mosque overlooking the sea, the National Museum, and browse Volovolo Market for spices, baskets, and local crafts.
Day 2: Mount Karthala Hike or Scenic Exploration
After breakfast, choose between an optional guided hike on Mount Karthala, the active volcano and highest point in the Comoros (2,361m), or a scenic drive around the volcano’s base with short walks to viewpoints or lava fields. The hike lasts 6–8 hours through forest, cloud zones, and volcanic terrain. Return to Moroni in the afternoon for rest.
Day 3: Northern Island Villages and Beaches
Travel north of Moroni along the coastal road to visit villages like Itsandra and Mbeni. Stop at Lac Salé, a saltwater crater lake, and enjoy a picnic lunch at Chomoni Beach with black volcanic sand and turquoise waters. Return to Moroni via scenic backroads, passing vanilla farms and ylang ylang plantations.
Day 4: Day Trip to Mitsamiouli and Northern Coast
After breakfast, head to Mitsamiouli, a quiet fishing town. Explore Dragon Rocks’ dramatic lava formations, nearby cliffs, and the bay at Trou du Prophète. Swim, relax, or join a local fisherman for a short boat ride. Return to Moroni in the afternoon, with optional stops at roadside stalls or spice plantations.
Day 5: Return to Grande Comore and Departure
Enjoy free time after breakfast for shopping or a walk along the Moroni coast. Depending on your flight schedule, your guide will transfer you to Prince Said Ibrahim International Airport for departure.
